Piazza Castello, hotel in Plaka Milou

Piazza Castello is a recently renovated guest house in Plaka Milou near Klima Beach. This guest house features air-conditioned accommodations with a terrace and free Wifi.

The location was great - near the top of Plaka, just under the castle. From there we could explore the village, the castle, and even further - we walked to the catacombs, the ancient theater, and all the way down to Klima. To explore more of the island we rented a buggy (which I would recommend anyway - there is so much to see on Milos!

Studios Betty, hotel in Plaka Milou

Located in Plaka, the scenic capital of Milos, this Cycladic-style property features air-conditioned studios with free Wi-Fi and private, furnished balcony overlooking the Aegean Sea.

Studios Betty Small excursion alone with my daughters. Looking for somewhere safe to stay. Unfamiliar with different areas. Did not plan on renting a car. Stumbled upon Studios Betty on Booking.com Arrived at a small, cozy, exclusive little town where the apartment was. Was met by Vasili, who helped carry our bags a little further up the road where cars did not pass. We were on the second floor. There was a bedroom with a queen bed and a single bed in the open kitchen area. There was a bathroom with a shower. Nice hot water and water pressure. Quaint little apartment in the heart of this little town. Then we opened the kitchen door onto the giant balcony, which had a table with a nice, large sitting area and a SPECTACULAR view. Wow! We were all speechless. The wifi provided in the room was excellent if needed. When they say don't think about it, book this place for the view they mean it. Beautiful sunset views like private balcony seating at a grand show. A picture is worth a thousand views. In the am, the balcony has ample sunlight for morning coffee before going out to start your day. Air-conditioned beautifully if needed. There were many restaurants and shops accessible by foot. The houses were all white, and the area felt very safe and clean. At night there was a nice breeze from being up at a higher altitude, and there was a pleasant buzz of small groups of people and live music. The apartment is close to little cafes, cozy bars, small jewelry shops, clothing shops, and rooftop lounges. Restaurants had a large variety from crepes, classic Greek food, souvlaki, seafood tavern, breakfast, ice cream shop, cafes, modern cuisine, fusion, outdoor seating, and rooftop seating. Initially, the walk down to the bus seemed a bit long. Taxi fare to the beaches would have cost appx 20-40 euro each way, so I decided to rent a car. There was limited parking up top in the village, but a free parking lot at the base with a short (but slightly steep) walk up.

Nice to be in a location with some restaurants/bar, lots of shops, incredible views and lots of friendly cats! Safe area and free public parking lot a 10-15 min walk from most places in the Plaka. Overall seems much less crowded and crazy than Adamas Port area. Some small museums in the town. As Plaka is higher up on the island, be prepared for walking inclines/declines and some stairs depending on your route. Limited car parking up close to restaurants and some of the rental accommodations, so something to consider if you have difficulty with mobility. I wouldn't hesitate to stay in this area again.

    Excellent location in Placka.

Excellent location in Placka. The host Stelios really care about the clients and he is used to provide very useful information about restaurants and beaches in Milos and other islands. The studio was amazing with an excellent view. I suggest all future visitors of Milos to stay in the old village of Placka and book a room at Halara Studios.

Magnificent view from the terrace of the countryside below Plaka, parts of the Milos bay and the windmills of Trypiti. On foot you can reach the old core with its beautiful Cycladic architecture in a few minutes or the ancient theater in half an hour. Don't miss the sunset from the Kastro! Our host Dimitris was incredibly helpful, in case of technical problems (Wi-Fi) immediately on the spot and had many good tips for restaurants, beaches and other destinations. On request, our apartment would have been cleaned even daily, which we did not find necessary.

Plaka is a small village but definitely the best place to stay on Milos due to the village being quite lively at night. I recommend a car for the island anyways so you might as well stay in that village and get a great view. The village is also central enough to the main attractions that if you want to hike directly from there to the port city or the beaches (Plathiena) or fish village (Klima) you will have a nice good hike. The prices are more expensive there so go eat elsewhere. The Utopian Café is worth it, though you can see the beautiful sunset from so many places. Do not go to the only café/bakery near the center - it's overpriced. Go to Adamantas - the port town - better prices for better quality.

This was a lovely stay. The family were really friendly.

This was a lovely stay. The family were really friendly. There are restaurants nearby.some a bit pretentious. We used a local taxi to take us around and to leave on the ferry Incoming was difficult as l ferry was two hours late. Nothing at ferry terminal. Best to walk to entry to port where there are more. No nearby local shops. Excellent archaeology including the spot where Venus de Milo was found.

Plaka was the perfect little village to stay in.

Plaka was the perfect little village to stay in. At night they block off car traffic and so pedestrians can walk freely from restaurants to shops to bars, etc. So cozy and lots of dining options. Central to the whole island.

Great location to the Plaka, just a few minutes walk. Friendly family owned hotel and bakery downstairs. Comfy rooms, great AC and the room had a balcony with a fridge and a complimentary bottle of water and tea was also provided. Plaka was my favorite village and much preferable to other areas where people stay such as sleepy Pollonia and busy Adematas. Adematas would be my second favortite location, but really Plaka is where it's at. Despite a Greek dancing festival that could be heard from outside, I could not hear anything in my room.

Great location - it felt like being off the grid, in nature, but only a few minutes from Plaka. Incredible views from the balcony. The studio was very clean and comfortable, much better than most places I've stayed at in Greece. Fast and reliable wifi, good enough for remote work which was a positive surprise! The hosts were super friendly and helpful, I visited off-season when a lot of food places were closed and they regularly checked in on me if I needed anything.

The place is absolutely stunning, with sunsets “better than Santorini,” as one local told me, but all to yourselves. The setting is unreal. Fragkoulis, who runs the hotel, is incredibly helpful and assisted us with anything we needed. He has done a great job restoring the old house, with lots of traditional touches and keeping some of the original furniture, but also with great modern upgrades, like a beautiful bathroom and a nice kitchen.

View of the sunset on your own terrace. Barely a 2 minute walk into the center of Plaka. 10 minutes with luggage to bus stop to go into Adamantas. Betty and her husband are so incredibly kind and helpful. You have everything you need in your studio. The room was immaculately clean. Bed is standard firm for Greece 😁
